Since the smoking ban in US casinos came into effect eight months ago, it has proved to be a disastrous step for the industry in Illinois.  926,000 fewer players came to the casinos than during the same period in 2007, making quite a dent in revenue.  It’s not just the smokers who don’t go to play at all, it’s the smokers who go to play but take the necessary time out for their smoking breaks.  This means less time to play!
