If bank statements show that you sometimes have an online bet on the horses, play online bingo or any other form of online gambling, think twice about applying for a mortgage or loan, because it will probably be rejected.   Banks look at online gamblers in a very negative light nowadays and if they see money being paid to online gambling accounts, particularly on a regular basis, they will not be happy about it.

While the stock prices of USA gambling companies, both online and land-based, are decreasing by the day, the stock prices of UK operators are ever increasing, particularly William Hill, who closed last Friday at $269,25, whilst Ladbrokes closed at $205,75. 

It is virtually illegal to gamble online in the US now.  On Wednesday the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve ruled that procedures have to be established by banks and other financial companies to prevent payments connected to unlawful internet gambling.  In other words, these institutions cannot accept payments from credit cards, cheques or electronic transfers to settle online wagers.  The rule is to be enforced by 1st December 2009. 

According to a new scientific study printed in the Psychology and Aging journal, if you start gambling on the internet when you are young you will probably suffer less bad effects compared to starting to gamble when you are older.  This is contrary to what we are led to believe by the powers that be who do everything they can to censor internet gambling for the young.  Indeed it is now thought that it is the older generation who are likely to become addicts.
